MTD Micro Molding, which develops micro-level molded plastic parts and components used in products such as surgical tools and biomedical plastic surgical catheters and implants, has made the Inc. 500|5000’s list of fastest-growing companies.

The 2011 Inc. 500|5000 list has been announced and MTD Micro Molding has made the list! Our 3 year growth of 228% has ranked us at the #1274 position as well as ranking #36 in the Manufacturing industry.

April 2011 | MTD Micro Molding Announces Cleanroom Expansion

MTD Micro Molding, which offers precision injection micro moulding for the micro medical device market is expanding its cleanroom. The 1200 square feet addition of ISO class 8 cleanroom will hold the capacity for 8 more moulding cells. A high tech material handling and storage area will be added to provide a server-based material handling system where every item can be verified by scanning the bar code or comparison to a photo.  

April 6, 2011 | MTD Announces Additional Technology Investment to Improve Micro Molded Bioabsorbable Stents

MTD Micro Molding has invested in excess of $520K in technology to support the development of micro molded Bioabsorbable stents during the past two years. Key areas of micro molded Bioabsorbable stent development has included novel tooling approaches that enable prototype iterations in a condensed time frame, material handling methods that minimize the loss of molecular weight (strength) as measured by IV (inherent viscosity) during processing, and modifications to standard molding systems that resulted in thin-wall polymer flow at five times the previous limits.

At MTD, innovations mean celebrations! This first MTD Innovation Awards took place today at MTD Micro Molding. Gary Hulecki and Seamus Quinlivan were recognized for their outstanding innovative achievement that took place in September 2010. We look forward to celebrating more innovations in the future.

July 27, 2010 | 7th Annual Swing for Kids Golf Tournament

MTD employees will be taking part in the 7th Annual Swing for Kids golf tournament sponsored by Robert F. Kennedy Children's Action Corps on August 6, 2010 at the Heritage Country Club in Charlton, MA. The funds raised from the event will allow 10 at-risk children from the program to go on a trip of a lifetime to Walt Disney World.

April 1, 2010 | Precision Has a New Name: MTD Micro Molding

After nearly four decades of being known as Miniature Tool & Die (MTD), we’ve changed our name to MTD Micro Molding. The new name better reflects the shift in demand towards micro molding products, and highlights that we’re the nation’s only company devoted exclusively to micro molding applications.
